We heart beautiful weather!

Josh is in the field (again) this weekend. Ty and I have been hanging out with one of the other wives (whose hubby is in Josh's class) so we won't be so lonely. Her name is Anja (she's from Germany), and she has a baby girl (Angelique) who is just 20 days younger than Ty! Ty has met another buddy to have fun with!

Today was absolutely gorgeous, so we went over to Anja's house to play. Anja had a nice, little pool set up for the babies since it was so warm out. Ty and Angelique had a great time playing in the water!

Ty had fun gnawing on those toys!

Aren't these babies so stinking cute?!

Ty also tasted watermelon for the first time! Do you think he likes it?

We love this weather! Hope it stays this nice out!

Oh my gosh it's a.....

So yesterday was an absolutely gorgeous day....sunny, mid-70's...beautiful! Josh had the weekend off, and we decided to go spend some time outdoors. He decided to take Ty and myself to an obstacle course that the Army uses for PT (physical training), but when we got there, a group of basic training soldiers were using it. So, we decided to go on a hike at Saunder's Springs, a local park, instead. Josh put Ty in the Baby Bjorn on his chest, and we started out on some trails. We came across a set of steep stairs going down a hill and started descending slowly and carefully. I went first, and Josh and Ty followed. About halfway down the steps, I heard a rustling in the leaves to my left. I looked down, gasped, and said, "Oh my gosh!" There, only about 4 feet away, was a massive black snake just staring me down! Josh looked down, saw it, and worrying about the baby on his chest, immediately turned and went back up the steps to avoid it, as I hurried down the steps past it, separating us. I absolutely HATE snakes! They are disgusting! Josh, Ty, and I met up back at another part of the trail and continued on to the car. I was done hiking after my encounter with that thing! Thank goodness it didn't attack me! :-) Since we really didn't get to hike much, we decided to go back to the obstacle course. The basic training soldiers were gone, so Josh and I took turns running through it. Now, I am not in the best shape of my life (having a baby 7 months ago and not losing my prego weight might be the reason for that), but that course was hard! I am proud of myself, though. I did all the obstacles except two, the monkey bars (because I was too short to reach them) and the rope climb (I am just too weak for that one). I am sore as heck today, but it was a lot of fun! So, the snake and the obstacle course made for an exciting Saturday!

Tough guy in the making...look at how strong our boy is! Already starting to climb ropes!

Ty having fun at the obstacle course!

I finally made it to the top of this wall...after several tries!

Sorry....no pic of the nasty snake...I wasn't taking any chances!

Sad Day :-(

Early this morning our good friends, and neighbors, the King family, moved away. Now we look across the street and see an empty house where they used to live. Mason and Hayden had become Ty's buddies, and Melissa is such a good friend to me! She got me involved in a great playgroup, which helped me get out of the house with my new baby, and meet other mommies. She watched Ty for me when I was in a bind (quite a few times), and if I needed her I knew she was just across the street. There were many nights when they would have us over for dinner, or we'd head out to E-town together. They are wonderful friends, and we will miss them like crazy! The one thing about the Army that I don't think I'll ever get used to is saying good-bye to those who have become such great friends. This is the second family we've said good-bye to in a month (the first being our awesome friend's, Wes and Katie). But, being an Army family has allowed us to make so many awesome friends, like the King's and Pollard's, and although these two families are irreplaceable, I know there will be many more amazing families that we will meet in the near future. But for now, we will be a tad bit lonely just knowing that Jason, Melissa, and the boys are no longer just across the street. :-(

A pic of the boys before saying good-bye. Can you tell they are sad?

Ty's First Easter!

Since poor Josh was in the field for Easter, I took Ty home to Cincinnati to spend some time with our families while he was away. I only got to spend two days back home, so one day was spent with Josh's side, and one day was spent with my side. We hadn't been home to spend the night since Christmas because Josh has been so busy with class, and me with the daycare, so it was nice to finally have a chance to come home (although it would have been much better if Josh could have come with us). It was fun seeing Ty interact with his cousins (Gabrielle and Maddie) now that he's a bit older. The girls both love giving him kisses, but they're not sure what to think about having to share toys (and their grandparents' attention) with this new, little guy.

Ty had a great first Easter! The Easter Bunny spoiled him with 3 Easter Baskets! He had to find one basket at Meemaw and Pawpaw Mertz's house, and Mamaw and Papaw Kinsel brought one down to him when they visited us a few weekends ago. When Josh got home from his FTX (Field Training Exercise) on Easter Sunday evening, Ty had one more Easter basket to find. Of course this basket was an "Army themed" basket! :-)

We just LOVE to hear our baby boy laugh! Apparently Ty thought Gabrielle was just too funny. Here's a video of him just cracking up at her!

Happy Birthday!!!

Today is my gorgeous hubby's birthday! Poor guy has to spend his birthday out in the field. :-( And he has a big exam this morning right before they head out into the cold! Not a great way to celebrate.

Josh, Ty and I wish you a happy, happy birthday! We love you with all our hearts! You are an amazing husband and daddy, and we are so blessed to have you in our lives! Happy Birthday!
