Trip to the field!

I got to do something totally cool yesterday! Josh has been out in the field since last Sunday doing some training missions for class, and the Lieutenant Colonel's wife organized a field trip for some of the wives to go out and watch them train! So, I was able to go out and watch what my hubby kick some booty! It was so awesome to watch and hear them go in and clear buildings, and attack this city that has been set up to resemble what they will face when they actually deploy. They really make this city realistic, from the buildings, to the road blocks, to the music blaring, to the abandoned cars that they blow up. There are even animals like goats and chickens running around! It really gave me a new appreciation of what Josh is training for. They put the other wives and I on the top of a school building so we could get a good view of the action. Josh was the first group of soldiers in to invade this city, while other members of his class played the enemy and were trying defend the city. They used blank rounds for the weapons on the tanks, explosive devices, smoke, and paint ball guns for the simulation of the attack. The group did really well on their mission! Afterwards, the cadre let the wives shoot some of the weapons! I got to shoot the 240 Bravo, the 50 Cal, and the Saw. It was such a fun time! Josh continues to impress me with what he has and is accomplishing in the Army.

Here is a video of some of the action. Josh is in the second green building on the right, clearing it out.

Here is a video of me shooting the 50 Cal! I was having a hard time getting my thumbs to reach the trigger...they definitely didn't design this weapon for someone with little hands!

In other news, Ty is getting his first tooth! The front, bottom left tooth is on it's way in! He is growing up so fast! He hasn't been too fussy about it yet, so that's good!

Vrooom, Vrooom!

Run, Baby, Run!

We think Ty's gonna love running! Here's why:

He may learn to run before he learns to walk!

Ty can roll!

I was beginning to wonder if Ty was ever going to get the hang of rolling over! This morning was the first time he made it all the way over by himself from back to belly! Of course Josh and I are so excited! Isn't it the coolest thing when your baby does something for the first time? Here it is:

Joey, it's your turn to post a video of little Miss Summer rolling! We want to see it!

This week....

Praise the Good Lord, Ty is sleeping through the night! We had to endure some sleepless nights last weekend, but it was totally worth it! Now I don't have to get up and feed him at all! If he does cry, I just go in and give him his pacifier, and he usually goes right back to sleep. I was so worried about letting him scream all night, but it really wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be. It feels so awesome to get a solid 7-8 hours of sleep after waking up every couple hours for the past 6 months! So, our sleep training worked, and our pediatrician was right! Yay!

We had some absolutely gorgeous, Spring-like weather last weekend. It made me so anxious for Spring and Summer! Josh, Ty, and I took advantage of the nice weather, and went to Bernheim Forest. Bernheim Forest is a park near Louisville that Josh found. It is a beautiful park, with lakes and hiking trails. We packed up ourselves and little man, and went hiking! Here are some pics:

One of the pretty lakes!

Ty is really close to rolling from his back to his belly. His little arm gets him stuck, but he's really trying! Here's a video I took of him almost rolling over! Go Ty, go!

On Monday, I received a special package in the mail. It was from our awesome friends, Teresa and Matt. Teresa had a bracelet made for me with Ty's name on it! It is my first piece of "mommy jewelry," and I absolutely LOVE it! The gift made my week! Thank you so much, Teresa and Matt! We are truly blessed to have friends like you! We miss you guys, and hope to see you soon!

I still don't have any daycare kids yet, but I have done some "back-up care" for another provider. Hopefully I will have my own kiddos soon!

Josh continues to work hard in Armor training. Monday night was a long night for him. He stayed up all night working on an "Op order." He got zero sleep. This class is pretty intense, but he is doing so well, and we are so proud of him!

Where Oh Where Does The Time Go?

I can't believe it is March 4 already! Ty will be 6 months old tomorrow! 6 months...that's halfway to a year old already! Time really does fly...especially when you have kids, I'm learning! I took Ty to his 6 month well-baby appointment today, and he is growing just fine! He is 13 lbs., 8 oz. and 24 in. long. He has mastered his veggies and is onto fruits now. He STILL isn't sleeping through the night for us. :-( Ty's doctor said to try sleep training. She says to let him cry all night, checking on him every 15 min. Yikes! That means zero sleep for mommy and daddy because, believe me, Ty will scream his head off all night long! Supposedly the doctor says that after three nights of crying, he will be trained and will sleep through the night for us. The question is, are Josh and I strong enough to let him cry all night, and can we make it through 3 nights of no sleep??? I don't know about that...please pray for us, and we will keep you updated.

Josh is doing well in school. His knee has been holding up through his intense training so far! He had a 5 mile run today, we'll see how his knee feels tonight, but praise God he did well!

My day care is open, and ready to roll! Now I just gotta find some kids! Oh, and I named my day care Kinsel's Kiddos (thanks to my dear teacher friend, Karen, for the idea!). And thanks to those of you that voted on the poll. Please pray that I get some well-behaved kiddos (is there such a thing? Lol) to fill my home!

Josh and Ty battled a nasty cold last week (Ty's first time being sick), but they both seem to be doing a better this week. They both still have a nasty cough though. Please pray that they both get and stay healthy.

Here are a couple of pics of my beautiful 6 month-old boy and gorgeous hubby taken today:

His onesie says "2nd in command after daddy." Thanks, Mamaw Kinsel!

Here is a video of Ty eating his green beans (requested by Papaw Kinsel). He made all kinds of faces when I fed him green beans, and even gagged a couple of times, but he ate them every time! I guess he's just like his daddy...not a picky eater!

And here's a video of Ty sitting up by himself. He only lasts a minute before he falls over, but he's getting there!
