Week one down...how many to go?!

Well, we made it through a week and two days...yay! We are doing pretty good. Ty definitely knows what's going on, and if you ask him he says, "Daddy go bye-bye for awhile." Heartbreaking, but he is doing good despite missing his daddy. Both boys are a bit under the weather with fevers and congestion, which makes things a bit more trying for mommy, but we are doing really well despite it all. Josh has finally made it to his "home" for the next year, and seems to be doing well too. Thank God for modern day technology...we have been able to skype a few times, and he has emailed me quite a bit. I have no idea how people made it through deployments back in WWII when they were gone for multiple years and were lucky if written letters even made it to their destination! Thanks to everyone for your prayers and support...they mean the world to us!

So, let me catch you up on how we spent our Christmas before we had to say goodbye to Josh. We went to Cincinnati to celebrate Christmas early the weekend of the 10th. The boys got spoiled rotten by the family! We also celebrated Caellum's 1st birthday that weekend (a month early, since Josh wasn't going to be here for it). Here are some pics:

Then on Christmas, we spent some good, quality time...just the four of us...at home, since we knew Josh would be leaving just a few days after Christmas. Here are some pics of our Christmas:

We moved Ty into his very own big boy bed! A Lightening McQueen race car bed! He loves it, and has done so well in it so far!

Hey Lisa! So sorry that you have to go through deployment but you have a great attitude about it and that's the best way to look at it. I remember those first days/weeks. I remember praying and asking God to help me to stop worrying about Seth so much so that I could focus on Caleb and our life here...and He totally took that consuming fear away from me and kept Seth safe :) Enjoy this year with your babies, even though Josh won't be around because they are only little one time. You guys are gonna be just fine! If you ever want to road trip, our house is open! I know Caleb would LOVE to play with your boys :) Praying for you guys as you transition. God will give you the strength you need!
