Dr. update

We had another doctor's appointment today. The doctor looked at our ultrasound results and decided that I have partial placenta previa. She said that I would now be considered a "high-risk pregnancy." The good news is that since I still have no symptoms of placenta previa I don't have to be put on bed rest or anything. I am so grateful for no bed rest...I think I would go insane if I had to be put on bed rest! I can still work, which is an answered prayer because Josh and I need the money! I don't necessarily have to have a C-section, it'll just depend on if I start having symptoms. Basically, we're just going to keep on plugging along until I start having symptoms. The baby still seems to be fine, heart rate is good and steady, and measuring just right. Thank the Good Lord for that! Please just keep praying that I make it through the next 4-5 weeks with no symptoms of placenta previa and no pre-term labor! Thanks!

Pack 'N' Play!

Josh set up our Pack 'N' Play a couple nights ago! Since we don't have room in our apartment for a crib, Bib will sleep in the Pack 'N' Play for a while. It is so cute! It's the "rainforest theme", like a lot of our other baby stuff, and we love it! It was another shower gift from Mamaw and Papaw Kinsel. Thank you Mamaw and Papaw Kinsel!

Prayer request

Josh and I have a prayer request. I found out last night that one of my co-workers at the church passed away very unexpectedly yesterday morning. His name is Steve Armstrong, and he has basically been training me the past week and a half. He was a wonderful man, and I can't even imagine how his family is coping with this loss. We are asking that you remember him and his family in your prayers. Thank you!

Bib update

We had another ultrasound this past Friday. Bib is looking good! The lady doing the ultrasound told us that Bib has hair and chubby cheeks! :-) She also told us that Bib weighs about 4 pounds, 7 ounces right now. She said he is measuring just right! So, that is the good news. The not so good news is that my placenta is still low-lying. It hasn't raised up at all. But I am not having any symptoms of placenta previa, so that's good! We have another dr. appointment on Wednesday, and I'm sure we'll discuss this with the doctor. For now we are grateful that the baby seems to be doing okay, and that I haven't had any problems so far. We will give another update after we speak with our doctor.

Bouncy Seat!

Rainforest Bouncy seat!

More Baby stuff! I actually put this one together! Josh keeps teasing that the bouncy seat is going to break as soon as we put Bib in it, since I put it together! But I am proud of myself...it is put together very well! Our sister Brandi, brother-in-law Chris, and niece Gabrielle gave us our bouncy seat. It is so cute, and will (hopefully) put Bib right to sleep! :-)

Thanks Brandi, Chris, and Gabrielle!

Jogging Stroller!

As we get our new baby stuff set up and ready to go, I will be posting pictures of all of it for you all to see. Thursday evening Josh set up the jogging stroller for us!

Mom and Dad Mertz, and my sister Michelle gave us this jogging stroller at our baby shower. We really like it, and hopefully, it will come in handy when it's time for me to start losing all this weight I've gained! Bib and I are going to go jogging! Thanks for the jogging stroller Mom, Dad, and Michelle!!!

Jogging Stroller with our car seat strapped in! That way I can start using it right away instead of having to wait until Bib is 6-8 months old!

Baby Showers...What Fun!!!!

Josh, Bib, and I had a shower-filled weekend! Momma Mertz and Momma Kinsel (or I guess we should call them grandmomma's), along with our sister's Michelle and Brandi, threw us two fabulous showers in Cincinnati this past weekend. We got so much stuff for Bib, we filled the back of our Tahoe! Mamaw Kinsel and Auntie Brandi made us the cutest diaper cake, and they had a very neutral yellow and green color-scheme going. Grandma Mertz and Auntie Michelle had a "pea-in-the-pod" theme going, and my Aunt Joy and cousin Cristal made us another adorable diaper cake! The diaper cakes are so great, I don't want to take them apart!!! We got our travel system stroller, our jogging stroller, our pack 'n' play, lots of diapers and wipes, tons of clothes, and so many other much-needed items! We also got enough $ in gift cards to Best Buy to purchase a camcorder so we can record Bib's "firsts" and post them on our blog!!!! We are so blessed to have such wonderful, supportive, generous, and giving friends and family! Thanks to Grandmom's Mertz and Kinsel, and Michelle and Brandi for organizing two awesome showers! And thanks to those of you that came and gave us all that precious baby stuff! We love you all, and can't wait to introduce you to Bib!

Aunt Joy made a "Daddy's tool belt" for Josh so he will be fully equipped to change dirty diapers! :-)

Daddy Josh did a great job putting our travel system together! He put it together immediately after we got home from our 2 1/2 hour drive! I think he's more than excited about Bib's arrival!

Aunt Michelle ordered these candy bars as party favors...they were so cute! Click on the picture to enlarge so you can read it!

BIB and Job Update!

Today was a very busy day for me. I had a doctor's appointment this morning and I started my new job this afternoon! So, I have a couple updates to fill you in on.

First I will tell you about Bib. Everything is looking good! Josh and I saw a different doctor (actually a midwife) today because our normal one was on vacation. Well, I REALLY liked this midwife. She was great! She felt my belly and said that Bib's head is facing down like it should be. She even helped Josh feel his head...he said it felt like a baseball...how cool! She also asked me about my low-lying placenta and went ahead and requested another ultrasound for us just so we could be sure exactly how "low-lying" it really is. So, I will have another ultrasound, scheduled for next Friday. Josh and I are really glad they are going to do another ultrasound, just to make sure the doctors know what we're dealing with. The midwife also set up my next two appointments with two of the other doctors that could be delivering Bib just so we could meet them! We feel very blessed that we saw the midwife today, and much more "at ease" with today's visit. Everything else with Bib looked good too. I am measuring just right, and Bib's heart rate is good and steady! So we had a good doctor's visit...thank you, Lord!

My first day at the new job went good too! Everything is pretty new so far, but I think I'm going to really like it. My co-workers have been very welcoming and super nice!

I had a great day! :-)

God Bless my Husband!

I love my husband so much! He has been so great and supportive during my pregnancy. He even offered to paint my toenails for me now that I'm getting so big I can barely reach them! So, last night I decided to let him try. He thought it'd be easy, and was so sure that he'd do a good job! Honestly, he didn't do too bad, but we were laughing so hard because he kept getting it all over my toes. After he did one foot, he just looked up at me and said, "Do you just want to do the other one yourself?" So, he ended up using the nail polish remover to take the polish off my toes, and I repainted them myself...with much effort! God bless him for trying!!! I love you, Josh! :-)

The end result! Ha, ha!

Removing the polish so I can start over!

Even more visitors!

Josh and I had quite an exciting week with all the visitors we had! Mom and Dad Mertz came to visit us on Saturday, and we had fun taking them to the "oldest, still-operating on the same land" distillery in Kentucky...Maker's Mark! We went on the Maker's Mark Distillery tour, and got to see how they make bourbon! It was fun! Thanks for coming to visit Mom and Dad Mertz! We love you!

I didn't get to taste the bourbon like everyone else did, but I did get to try a bourbon chocolate...yummy!

Answered Prayer!

Josh and I received an answered prayer today! Since we have gotten to Elizabethtown in early May, I have been searching for a job. Since school is out for the summer, substitute teaching was out, but we still needed me to make some money to help us pay our bills. After 2 1/2 months of applying, searching, handing out resumes, and walking into interviews obviously pregnant, I finally got a job offer! Praise the Lord!!!! I am going to be working as an assistant secretary for a church! They hired me knowing that I am 7 1/2 months pregnant! I start next week on Wednesday! This is definitely an answered prayer as Josh and I have really been stressing over our finances. Thanks to all my friends and family that offered up prayers for us! They have been answered!

More Visitors!

Josh and I love having visitors! Mom and Dad Kinsel stopped by yesterday to visit with us. We went to this adorable, little village called Glendale. Our awesome neighbors, Heather and Brad, recommended this restaurant called the Whistle Stop, so we decided to try it out. It was delicious! After dinner, we browsed the little shops in the village. It was a lot of fun! Thanks for the recommendation, Heather and Brad! And thanks to Mom and Dad Kinsel for visiting us! We love you!

We thought this shop was neat-looking, but it was closed so we didn't get to go inside.

SUCCOTASH! Or is it Sasquatch? Uncle Danny, we took this picture for you! :-)

The Whistle Stop restaurant is the building on the right.

Erika, this one's for you!

WHOA! Look at that belly! Now I am totally embarassed!

It looks much better covered up! :-)

Erika...this post is for you! You said you wanted more prego pics so I am going to totally embarass myself and show off my enormous baby-bump! I am just about 31 weeks, but everyone keeps telling me I look like I'm ready to deliver at any minute! I knew I'd get huge when I got pregnant! Oh well, as long as the baby is healthy!

For those of you that don't know, Erika is my best friend from high school. I was able to visit her and her three gorgeous kids over the Fourth of July holiday. I meant to get a picture of her and her kiddos to post on here, but prego-brain took over and I forgot, of course! Erika, it was awesome seeing you and I hope to see you again real soon! Love you!

Isn't she adorable?

My sister, Michelle, and niece, Maddie, came down to Elizabethtown to visit Josh and I this week. We had so much fun hanging out together! Thanks for coming to visit, Maddie and Michelle! I had to post another precious video of Maddie! This blog is becoming Maddie-central, but hopefully you all will think this video is as funny as I do! Michelle had her cracking up, and I just love to hear her laugh!

July 4

So this post is a little late, but better late than never! We went back to Cincinnati for the Fourth of July holiday, and had fun visiting our friends and family. Our niece, Maddie, was too funny. She is waving at everyone now. I had to post this video of her enjoying a watermelon at our Fourth of July celebration!

The cookie lady was awesome...I can't believe she carried the cookies all around the stadium on her head!

Josh and I had an exciting Monday evening! Our neighbor friends, Heather and Brad, were kind enough to take us to a Louisville Bats baseball game! We had so much fun! The Lord has truly blessed us with our neighbors...they are wonderful friends! Thanks Heather and Brad!

Congrats!

Amy, Lisa, and BIB :-)

Just wanted to say congratulations to our good friends, Amy and Bryan, who recently got married in Hawaii! Her reception was this past Friday, and Josh and I had so much fun at their Hawaiian Luau!
