For anyone that comes down to visit us (or for those Army families that will be stationed in Ft. Knox anytime soon) we have to take you to our new, favorite restaurant in Elizabethtown! It's called the Back Home Restaurant (link), and it's the most adorable restaurant with the best home-cooked meals we have had in a long time! We were driving through old E-town one day, and Josh saw the restaurant and immediately wanted to try it. So, we went one Friday evening, and have been back several times since! The restaurant is in this old, historic home. The second story is a little store that sells the cutest crafts (Kat, I think you would like this place...we'll have to take you when you get here)! Josh's parents were in town this past weekend, and we took them there. While we were there, Josh bought me the cutest candle! It is so cute, I didn't want to burn it! I decided to go ahead and burn it today, and it smells soooo good! I'll just have to get another once this one is done!

Our apartment is finally looking pretty good...it only took us two months to get everything together! I'm going to have to get better at this unpacking and organizing stuff with us being in the Army and moving every few years! Mom and Dad Kinsel gave us a nice, new recliner to add to our finished look! Praise the Lord for our parents and the blessings they shower on us! We love you!

Another Bib update!

We had a baby doctor visit today. Everything is progressing fine. The doctor put our minds at ease about the low-lying placenta issue. I do not have placenta previa, so they are going to treat me like any other normal pregnancy. They will not do another ultrasound unless I have symptoms that would cause them to have concerns. They are assuming that my placenta will stay low-lying (since it has been that way for the last 8 weeks), but it should not be an issue unless I were to go into pre-labor. I will not need to have a C-section unless an emergency were to happen (which, the doctor assured me, can happen in any pregnancy). So, basically, Bib and I are doing great right now. Bib weighed 2 pounds, 2 ounces at our last ultrasound, which the doctor said is average. Bib's heart rate today was in the 140s, and I am measuring just right! All my tests came back normal (my gestational diabetes test, bloodwork, etc.), and everything seems to be just fine according to doc! Praise the Lord that everything is going okay for us! Thanks to you all for your continued prayers and support! We will definitely keep you updated!

Happy B-Day, Bubby!

Patton Museum at Ft. Knox

Last week, our Aunt Kathy, cousins Jared and Parker, and Papaw Stone came to Ft. Knox for a visit. We had a lot of fun! Josh and I took them for a tour of the Army post, and we visited the Patton Museum. We also took a trip to Bardstown, KY (a short drive from where we live). Bardstown is a beautiful, little town with lots of history. We toured My Old Kentucky Home, and went to some more museums. Thanks to Kathy, Papaw, and the boys for coming to visit us!

Bib update!

Here's our growing baby! This is a profile pic, looking at Bib from the side. His head is on the right, he's laying on his back, legs on the left, and his arm and little fist is in the middle. Poor guy looks so scrunched up in there! If you look at the top left, his feet are almost touching his hand! Amazing!

Josh and I went for our second ultrasound today! We got to see our little Bib again! The doctor says Bib is doing fine. He has a big head and belly! His heart rate has slowed considerably since the beginning of my pregnancy...it was 133 today, which follows the myth that we're having a boy. So, I still think we're having a boy...even though Josh isn't so sure anymore. :-) Josh said he didn't see what he thought he saw during our first ultrasound, and now realizes that it could be a girl! But after seeing the heart rate, he was back to thinking it was a boy! While the ultrasound was exciting (like always) we got some not-so-great news today too. The doctor says I have a low-lying placenta, which means the placenta is sitting on or near my cervix. Basically, with a low-lying placenta (also called placenta previa) there are possibilities of pre-term labor, and I would have to deliver the baby by C-section if the placenta doesn't rise before my due date. There is a possibility that as my uterus grows (as I get further along) the placenta will rise, and it will not be a concern. So, I will most likely be monitored closely, and will have another ultrasound somewhere in the near future. We have another appointment in two weeks, and will keep you updated as we learn more about the situation. For now, we are very grateful that Bib is doing okay, and we are praying that my placenta will rise as I get further along! Josh and I would like to ask for your prayers so that everything goes smoothly with my pregnancy, and that we will have good news about my placenta in the near future. We truly appreciate all your prayers and support!

We're Baaack!

We are finally home, and I was able to upload some pics from our 3 week stay in Cincinnati! Josh and I are doing good, glad to be home sleeping in our own bed and not living out of suitcases anymore. Josh's knee is feeling much better. He still cannot put any weight on it yet, but the pain is not as bad as it had been. Thanks to everyone for praying for him! I will have some updates on Bib this week and next, as I have a couple of doctor's appoinments scheduled. Now that we're home, I should be able to post more frequently, so check back often!

Here are a few pictures of my trip to Destin! I left my poor hubby at home to fend for himself while I traveled to Destin, FL to soak up the sun. We had quite a crew...my mom and dad, sister Michelle and her husband, Jay, their daughter Maddie, and Jay's daughter Megan, my brother Billy, my Aunt Joy and Uncle Gary, cousin Cristal, and her two daughters, Maya and Olivia. We all had a blast!

Maddie loved the swimming pool too! Click play to watch her swim with Uncle Billy!

Josh walking with Gabrielle (pre-surgery)

Here are some pictures from our three week stay back home in Cincinnati. We were home for Josh's knee surgery/recovery. Before Josh had surgery, we attended the MMA Big Show fights, where Josh was the commentator. He also got to play one of his favorite video games, Rock Band, with his brother-in-law! After his surgery, he was pretty much laid up for a couple weeks, and didn't get to do much other than go to the doctor and to his physical therapy appointments. We enjoyed our time at home with our friends and family...thanks to Mom and Dad Kinsel and Mom and Dad Mertz for letting us stay with you for so long!
