Same outfit...just getting a little tighter!

Okay, so here is another prego pic of me...now at 20 weeks. I wore the same outfit as the pic of me at 18 weeks so you could compare. Look at how much more my belly has popped out! I am getting bigger and bigger by the minute! Josh keeps teasing that we're going to have a short (since I'm only 5 feet), fat kid that we will have to roll around! :-)

Poll Results!

The poll results are in, and it looks like 60% of you think that Josh and Lisa are going to have a baby boy! I guess we will have to wait until September to find out! Thanks to those of you that voted!

We made it!!!

Hooray for us! We made it to Ft. Knox! We have to say a HUGE, HUGE thank you to our good Army friends Steve Ward and Jacob Magill...they pretty much loaded up all our stuff for us in Benning. Another HUGE thanks goes to Mom and Dad Kinsel and Mom and Dad Mertz for unloading us, helping us organize most of our belongings, and helping us hang curtains, blinds...you name it, they helped! THANK YOU GUYS!!! We wouldn't have been able to make this move if it wasn't for those 6 people! The Lord blessed us, and definitely sent us people to help us with everything we needed. We are now getting settled into our new home in Elizabethtown, KY. So far, we love it! The people here are super friendly, and we have already made friends with many of our neighbors! I will post some pics of us in route from Columbus, GA to E-town, KY and some pics of our new, empty apartment. Once we get everything together and looking pretty, I will post more pics of our new place.

The joys of moving!!!

Everytime I move, I always say to myself, "I hate moving! I never want to do this again!" Being an Army wife, I have a feeling I'm going to be saying that A LOT more in my lifetime! Hopefully, this is the last time that Josh and I will have to move ourselves. Next time, we're gonna let the Army do it all! I have been packing up all our stuff for the past two days, and tomorrow we load up the U-haul and go! Josh and I can't lift much, so pray that our good, ol' Army buddies come through to help us tomorrow! Josh and I won't have internet service until Monday, so it will be a few days before I can get back on here to post. So, good-bye Benning...hello Knox!

Our last weekend in Benning!

Our last weekend in Ft. Benning was a good one. The weather was absolutely gorgeous...probably the thing I will miss the most about Benning. It was around 80 degrees and sunny...perfect! Josh and I went to see some of the Best Ranger competition that happens here in Benning once a year. It was awesome to see! These Rangers are tough as nails! Josh was a little depressed watching because of his knee, he really wants to go to Ranger school and is bummed that his chances of going might be pushed back now. But we had fun watching, and maybe Josh will be healthy enough to qualify as a Ranger someday and enter this competition. Above are some pics of some of the Rangers competing and of Josh and our good buddy Steve...possible future Rangers! Way to go to all Rangers that competed this weekend!
We also wanted to say congratulations to UFC fighter Rich Franklin, and our good friend Rob Radford (Rich's boxing coach) for an awesome win over Travis Lutter on Saturday! Way to go, Rich and Rob! Oh, and the Ft. Benning soldiers loved their shout-out! :-)
Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Good news and bad news....

Okay, so here is what we found out today...we'll start with the bad news first. Josh has to have knee surgery. :-(

He has torn the ACL and meniscus in his right knee. So now he will most definitely have two bum knees. He took the news well, although he feels so bad, saying that he should be taking care of his pregnant wife, not the other way around. As far as the surgery is concerned, he has been down this road twice before, so he knows what to expect. As far as us moving to Knox, we are going to go ahead and move as planned (Lord help us!). He will most likely have his surgery when we get to Knox, and should get his BOLC III dates moved back, which means he will start in a later class than he was supposed to be in. He is going to have a long recovery ahead, so any prayers you can send his way would be greatly appreciated!

Now for the good news! We had an exciting ultrasound, and got to see BIB today! It was so cool! We got to see him sucking his thumb, and his feet were straight up in the air! He is an active little guy, that's for sure! We told the lady that we didn't want to know what we were having, so she turned the screen when she got "down there" so we couldn't see. Of course my nosey husband (who can't stand waiting for surprises) was trying to peek! If you're wondering why I am referring to BIB as a "he", it's because I am now more convinced than ever that we're having a boy! Even though we didn't really see (well, Josh may have seen since he was peeking...cheater) there are a couple reasons why I'm convinced it's a boy. Reason #1: The lady kind of slipped and said "he". But she didn't looked rattled and covered up pretty good, and made it sound like she was saying he or she. So, I don't know if it was a slip up or not...but I kind of think it was. Reason #2: They said BIB weighs 9 oz. In all my pregnancy books, they say the baby should weigh about 7 oz. right now, and BIB weighs slightly more. Usually boys weigh more, so that's the second reason I think it's a boy. So, I guess we really don't know for sure...but I really, really think it's going to be a boy!

So, that is our mixture of good/bad news for the day! I am posting a pic of poor Josh on crutches with his bum knee, one of me right before the ultrasound, and an ultrasound pic of BIB! It is a picture of BIB's profile (head and side of face), and the white dot above his face is his little fist. Hope you can make out what I'm talking about! :-)

MRI and Ultrasound

Josh FINALLY got an MRI on his knee this evening, praise the Lord! Now he just has to schedule another doctor's appt. either tomorrow or Friday to get it read. I will feel much better once we know what is wrong with it. I am praying he doesn't need surgery! His cadre have been super cool about his knee injury, and he hasn't had to go out into the field at all this week! Another praise the Lord!

Also, I was able to get my ultrasound scheduled today, yay! We go this Friday at 4:00pm. Josh will be able to go with me. We are super excited about it! Hopefully all is well with BIB, and maybe we will even get to see it moving around. I will definitely give updates when we find out more about Josh's knee and BIB!

Sorry about the poll!

So I was playing around with the background on our blog (as you can see), and it deleted the poll! I didn't know it was going to do that...I'm still learning here! Anyways, I re-posted it, and if you could vote again that would be great! Again, I apologize!

Doctor's updates...

Well, we just got back from the doctor. Everything with BIB looks just fine. Josh got to go with me to this visit (his first time going), and he got to hear the heartbeat. He thought that was so cool! We are going to schedule an ultrasound for sometime this week or next, before we move to KY. We're not going to find out what we're having, though. I want to be surprised! We will definitely give an update after we get the ultrasound.

As for Josh's knee, we are trying to get an MRI scheduled. The Army's benefits are great, but, unfortunately, they like to give you the run around sometimes. So, we are praying about it and hoping to get him an MRI scheduled for sometime this week so we know what's going on with his bum knee. He is getting ready to go back out into the field as soon as he hears back from his doctor about the MRI. Will keep you posted....

18 weeks, and getting bigger by the minute!

Okay, so I am now 18 weeks pregnant, and getting fatter by the minute! I wanted to post some pics of my ever expanding belly so my family will be satisfied. I guess they miss not having me around so they can make fun of how fat I am getting, LOL! I am starting to feel the baby move, which has been exciting. Josh hasn't gotten to feel BIB (baby in belly) yet, but hopefully he will soon. My next doctor's appointment is tomorrow, so I will post another update on BIB after I see the Dr. Everyone keeps asking me how I am feeling...I feel great! I have to say, I have had a very easy pregnancy so far (knock on wood). We are very blessed!

Well, enjoy the fat pics! :-)

The blind leading the blind....

This is how Josh and I are feeling right about now...

This past Thursday I get a text from Josh around 6:45 AM saying that he hurt his knee (his right knee, that's his good knee...he's already had two surgeries on his left knee) playing soccer for PT. Great! So now my poor hubby is on crutches with a bum knee that he can't even put weight on! Now, keep in mind that we are supposed to be moving to Ft. Knox in two weeks! How in the world are going to move an apartment full of stuff with one of us 5 months pregnant and one of us on crutches?! So, this is how we feel right now...the blind leading the blind. Oh well, we know that the Good Lord will take care of us, and hopefully all will work out for the best! I feel bad for Josh, though...he has to go out in the field this week on crutches! Say some prayers for him, please! We need his knee to start feeling better soon!

Where will we end up?

Josh is finishing up BOLC II (Basic Officer Leadership Course) in a couple weeks. We will then be moving (yes, moving again) to Ft. Knox for BOLC III (his third officer's training course). We are excited about this move because we will only be about 2 1/2 hours away from good, ol' Cincinnati (home, sweet home) for about 4 months! That means we will get to visit home and our families often...woo-hoo! After Ft. Knox, we PCS (permanent change of station) to Ft. Hood, TX. We are a little nervous to be that far away from home, but excited to try out Texas living! Niether of us have ever been to Texas before, and we've heard many good things about it! We have lots of experiences in store for us in the near future!

Here is a pic from Josh's graduation from OCS (Officer Candidate School). He is now a 2nd lieutenant!

Our first post!

So Josh and I wanted to create a blog to share our crazy army life with our friends and family while we are living so far away. We want to use this blog to give updates, share pictures, and basically use it as a tool to communicate with our loved ones. So, we hope you enjoy our blog!!!
